Dee Doocey OBE

London Assembly Member

Photo of Dee DooceyDee Doocey AM was elected as a Liberal Democrat member of the Greater London Assembly (GLA) in 2004. She became a GLA representative on the MPA in May 2005.

Dee’s main interest as a member of the MPA is in helping to create more visible policing. She is a strong believer in the British tradition of the police being an integral part of the communities they serve. Her priority is maintaining and building the confidence that people have in their local police, which is vital to the creation of a safer society.

Dee chairs the London Assembly’s Economic Development, Culture, Sport & Tourism Committee, which is the lead committee on the Assembly for scrutinising the Olympics.
From 1986 until 1994, she served as an elected councillor for the London Borough of Richmond, where she was Chair of the Housing Committee. She was previously Finance Director of the Liberal Party for ten years and Financial Adviser to the Liberal parliamentary party for eight years.

Dee gave up her business interests when she was elected to the London Assembly. She ran her own management consultancy, specialising in advising blue chip companies how to improve cost effectiveness. She was previously Group Managing Director of an international fashion company, with operations in London, Hong Kong and China.
