At its meeting on 29 March 2007 the Metropolitan Police Authority appointed a new Independent member to fill a vacancy in its membership, following an open recruitment and selection process. The new Independent member is Faith Boardman, who will serve a four-year term from 30 March 2007. Faith was chief executive of Lambeth Council 2000/05 and has now retired from public service. Prior to that she was chief executive of the Child Support Agency and the Contributions Agency. As the director of a management consultancy providing a range of specialist development, leadership and change management support services Faith will bring a range of skills and experience to the Authority. She also holds a number of other voluntary positions, which including being a non-executive member of the Audit Committee of the Prisons Service and a trustee of the London Ecumenical Aids Trust.
