A barrister, a Recorder in the Crown Court who also sits as a Part time Immigration Judge and Employment Tribunal Chair. He is presently Chair of the Society of Black Lawyers, and is a campaigning human rights advocate within the community. Peter continues to have a wide range of professional interests ranging from employment discrimination to deaths in custody and child care law. He has chaired several mental health homicide enquiries, and is a former member of the Attorney General's Race Advisory Committee and Home Secretary's Race Panel. He was awarded the American Bar Association diversity award in Philadelphia in 2002 and recently led a Foreign Office delegation to Georgia and Washington DC to look at Hate Crime and Youth Crime in the USA. He Chairs the pan-London independent Race Hate Crimes Forum, helping to combat racial violence in the capital and has appeared as Lead Counsel in the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
