MPA Committee structure and terms of reference

Report: 3b-AGM
Date: 29 May 2008
By: Chief Executive

Summary

This report invites members to confirm the current MPA committee structure and terms of reference until 30 September 2008.

A. Recommendation

That the current MPA committee structure and terms of reference (see Appendix 1) be confirmed until 30 September 2008.

B. Supporting information

1. The MPA’s committee structure has been the subject of regular review. The current committee structure came into operation in January 2006 and has since been reconfirmed at subsequent annual meetings. It is recommended elsewhere on this agenda that appointments made at this annual meeting be made up to 30 September. To give members the opportunity to review whether the current committee structure remains fit for purpose it is recommended that the Authority confirms the current structure and the committee terms of reference until 30 September 2008.

2. Members may wish hold discussions on how the Authority conducts its business and it is suggested that these take place between this meeting and September.

C. Race and equality impact

There are no specific implications as a result of this recommendation.

D. Financial implications

There are no financial implications.

E. Background papers

None
