The Morris Inquiry

An independent Inquiry into professional standards and employment matters in the Metropolitan Police Service

  • The Metropolitan Police Authority has recently established an independent Inquiry into professional standards and employment matters in the Metropolitan Police Service.
  • The Inquiry Panel is: Sir William Morris (Chair), Sir Anthony Burden and Anesta Weekes QC.
  • The Inquiry is considering how the Metropolitan Police Service handles complaints, grievances, workplace conflicts and employment tribunal cases in respect of police officers and police staff.
  • The Inquiry was launched on 21 January 2004 and has held its first public hearings. Further hearings are planned from 29 March 2004.
  • Hearings take place at the Inquiry’s offices: 50 Broadway, London SW1H 0RG; telephone 020 7152 4522/23. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
