Catherine Crawford will take up the post of Clerk to the Authority before Christmas. Peter Martin will take up the post of Treasurer from 1 October 2000. Commenting on the appointments, the Chair of the Metropolitan Police Authority, Toby Harris said:
Catherine Crawford has been Executive Director of the Association of Police Authorities since it was set up in 1997. She joined the Home Office in 1970 and has had over twenty years experience in providing policy and procedural advice to police, criminal and prison departments. In her most recent Home Office post she worked closely with the Metropolitan Police for over five years. Peter Martin is presently the Authority’s Acting Treasurer. Prior to joining the MPA’s Transition Team, Peter was Finance Director, Kent County Council, Treasurer to Kent Police Authority and Director of Peter Martin Consultancy Limited.
