Sections available here: Content Met Police Authority appoints Director of Communications22/00 The Chair of the Metropolitan Police Authority, Toby Harris, today announced the appointment of Philip Powell as Director of Communications. Philip will take up the post 30 October 2000. Philip Powell is presently Press Secretary to the Minister for the Cabinet Office, Mo Mowlam. Before joining the Cabinet Office, he was Regional Director, COI Yorkshire and Humberside and East of England. Notes to editorsPhilip Powell The Metropolitan Police Authority took over responsibility for the Metropolitan Police Service from the Home Secretary on 3 July.
