Londoners’ confidence in policing in the capital has also increased. Welcoming today’s figures, Len Duvall, chair of the MPA, said:
Notes to editors1. Overall crime is down by 6.9% when comparing the first 5 months of this financial year with the same 5 months in 2005-06. 2. The latest crime statistics are available on the MPS website: www.met.police.uk/crimefigures 3. Sanction Detection: a detection in which a person was charged, reported for summons, cautioned or issued with a fixed penalty notice, or the offence was taken into consideration by a court.
