Best Value Review 2002

This is the final report of the Best Value Review of Records Management which was presented to Finance, Planning and Best Value Committee on 29 May 2002. The report contains the findings and conclusions of the review, carried out between December 2001 and May 2002. The report contains recommendations for future action and an improvement plan which will deliver cashable savings estimated at £1.6m when fully implemented. The recommendations propose significant improvements to the storage, retrieval and management of information within the MPS. The combined effect of the recommendations will also deliver an estimated £0.8m of efficiency savings each year through reductions in paper record storage and staff time deployed in record retrieval.
