Sections available here: Content Race Equality SchemeThe Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000The Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000 places a statutory duty on public authorities to promote race equality. The Act also requires public authorities to devise a Race Equality Scheme, which outline their arrangements for tackling racial discrimination, and promoting equality of opportunity and good race relations. MPA Race Equality SchemeThe Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) has prepared such a scheme. This scheme demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to race equality, and sets out how it intends to work with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), the Greater London Authority (GLA) and other bodies. The MPS has also produced a Race Equality Scheme in order to meet the duties of the Act. The MPA and the MPS schemes tie in closely with each other. The key objective of the MPA Race Equality Scheme (RES) is to demonstrate the MPA’s commitment to race equality. The following Race Equality Scheme documents are available as PDF documents:
